Killeen Pet Foster is a mediator for the greater Fort Hood area only. We try and help you find a place for your pets to stay, while you have to deploy or leave on an emergency absence.

NOTE: Due to lack of funding and volunteer foster homes we are suspending this program indefinitely.

Signing up as a foster home with Killeen Pet Foster means you can volunteer to wean kittens or puppies, or nurse a sick shelter dog, take care of a soldier's pet during deployment or extended training, or watch the pet of a person who is suddenly hospitalized. You can choose what you want to do. If you have never fostered, we encourage you to volunteer for short term foster first (up to three months) and see how you like the experience. We do not recommend you volunteer for a long term fostering situation if you have never experienced this sometimes life changing task.

If you are interested in becoming a foster home and want to be added to our list of available fosters, please email us.

If you want to charge the pet owners a resonable fee for homing the animals, we request that you list the fee when you submit your application to us, so we can match the right foster home with the right pet owner. (This does not apply to stray and rescue fosters)
